Glass House Mountains
The natural jewel of the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, is our destination this morning. With subtropical rainforest overlooking the spectacular Glass House Mountains, you can take a relaxing guided walk along the rainforest paths with time at the end to explore the newly built interactive Rainforest Discovery Centre. Our lunch stop, Secrets Café, will allow you to enjoy your lunch while sitting adjacent to the rainforest and taking in the panoramic views of Lake Baroon and its magnificent surrounding mountains. Right next door the art gallery is a truly unique space and an artwork in itself. Take some time to fossick for a while – view a wide variety of genres, styles and subjects lovingly created by hand-picked local artists.
Heading home by meandering along roads less travelled, you’ll be one of the few to discover some of the hidden beauty of the area. Allow yourself to be serenaded by the enchanted views that most interstate visitors to this area are unaware exist.

Country & Coast
By immersing ourselves in the rainforest yesterday we saw glimpses of what this area was like pre-settlement. Today we hear stories of the pioneer families who settled in the logging town of Landsborough with a visit to the Landsborough Historical Museum, one of the largest social history museums in Queensland. A butter making demonstration and viewing some of the historic pioneer equipment is just one highlight.
Visiting the Sunshine Coast would not be complete without the smell of the sea and the crashing of the surf. Our afternoon will be spent in Mooloolaba, with its beachside charm, sea and surf but without the hustle and bustle of Noosa. Maybe a barefoot walk in the sand and a paddle, a quiet coffee watching the holidaymakers walk along the esplanade or some retail therapy in the incredible selection of boutique stores. Whatever choice you make it will be a relaxing afternoon!

The Eumundi Markets & Mary Valley Rattler
Every Saturday and Wednesday, the sleepy town of Eumundi transforms itself into a vibrant mecca for shoppers looking for something different. We step into a world of original design of jewellery, homewares, clothing and sculptures at this world class market. Take a break from shopping, grab yourself a gourmet delight and listen to one of the entertaining buskers. There’s certainly something to please everyone here!
A short drive away is the township of Gympie historically known as the “the town that saved Queensland” when gold was discovered in the late 1860’s. After a delicious lunch in the historic station you will be hypnotised by the “clicketty clack” while taking the breathtaking scenery aboard the meticulously restored Mary Valley Rattler. This will certainly be a day to remember

The Noosa River
Experience one of the truly remarkable wilderness areas of the world. Cruising the Noosa River (the only river system in Australia that has its entire upper catchment protected in National Park) you can observe, photograph and be immersed in the abundance of wildlife in their natural habitat. Almost half of all Australia‘s bird species reside within this spectacular region along with over a thousand species of plants and 700 native animals.
After our relaxing day we take the coastal road through Coolum back to Caloundra.
