Full Day City Sights and Fremantle + Swan River Cruise
The day begins at the beautiful Kings Park botanic gardens with time to experience a walk through the tree’s canopies on the Tree Top Walkway giving a bird’s eye view of Perth’s city skyline. Continue to one of Perth’s best beaches, Cottesloe Beach before arriving at the historic port town of Fremantle. Time is allowed for a walk down the main street, enjoy a coffee at one of the many cafes (own expense) or perhaps find a bargain at the markets (Fri, Sat and Sun only). Then enjoy a self guided ‘hop on hop off’ historic Fremantle Tram tour taking in the famous fishing boat harbour, Maritime Museum and Fremantle Prison. Then join a Swan River Cruise for the journey back to Perth with Captain Cook Cruises. Onboard, relax and enjoy the panoramic scenery. There is also the opportunity to sample local wines. Tour concludes at approximately 5:00pm, at The Barrack Street Jetty.
Perth to Albany
Travel south towards Albany and the South Coast, we encounter at the Stirling Ranges and Porongorups for picnic lunch and sightseeing at the base of Bluff Knoll and then continue South to Mount Clarence and the ANZAC Memorial Centre in Albany. Take a self-guided tour before taking a scenic drive along the rugged coastline before an early evening check-in at your accommodation. Accommodation: Ibis Styles, Albany or similar.
Albany to Pemberton region
After breakfast head to the famous Whale world interpretation centre for a quick self-guided tour before enjoying coastal sightseeing, visiting ‘The Gap’ and ‘Natural Bridge.’ Travelling West to the coastal resort town of Walpole, we join our local guide for a luncheon cruise on the Nornalup Inlet, widely regarded as one of the last great wilderness areas. Next stop is the Valley of the Giants ‘Tree Top Walk’ which reaches 40 metres high into the forest Canopy. Afterwards head Northwest to the Pemberton region for check in at your accommodation. Accommodation: Karri Valley Resort, Pemberton or similar.
Margaret River Wine Region
Early morning take a short stroll to the majestic Beedelup Falls heading head North through the stunning Boranup Forest to have the opportunity to climb the 61 metre Gloucester Tree. Then on to Australia’s most South-Westerly point, Augusta, and visit Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian and Great Southern Oceans meet. After lunch we head out to Surfers Point Lookout to see some spectacular coastal views and then North to Mammoth Cave before heading to experience an Australian sheep dog and shearing demonstration at the Yallingup Shearing Shed. Afterwards late afternoon check-in at your accommodation allowing free time to experience the local surroundings. Accommodation: Abbey Beach Resort, Busselton or similar.
Margaret River to Perth
After breakfast, we head down to enjoy some free time in the main township of Margaret River. Following shopping time, visit the chocolate and cheese factories (time permitting) to taste some of their delicious samples and then sample some of the delicious locally produced wines at a marquee Winery. Following lunch, head to the dramatic coast at Canal rocks. Journeying home, at Busselton, you’ll see the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere before a leisure drive back to Perth arriving late afternoon. Perth’s Best Wildflower Tour
With a botanical guide search Perth’s outskirts in search of the finest wildflowers. The Darling Escarpment is traditionally the ideal habitat and location to view wildflowers, profusion varies daily and is dependent on sunshine.
We visit locations where we expect to find the finest wildflowers for you to see and smell. Our experienced guide will help you identify rare and delicate wildflowers including renowned everlastings, orchids, red and green kangaroo paw, banksias, bottle brush and Western Australia’s most famous orange flowering Christmas trees.

Australia’s largest regional town with a long and fascinating history, there’s plenty to see, learn and do. First stop that evening is the wild west town of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, home to the staggering 3.6km wide Super Pit.
Off Train Experience in Cook
Upon waking, set your sights on the vast horizon beyond the window – you have arrived on the edges of the sweeping Nullarbor Plain. Big blue skies await you, the ancient stillness of the desert landscape broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos or the occasional circling bird of prey. By the time you have refreshed and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, you’ll be stepping off the train for a short stop in Cook. Once a bustling railway community, now effectively a ghost town, Cook gives new meaning to the expression “middle of nowhere”. Get a sense of the Nullarbor’s intense remoteness as you wander through Cook’s abandoned buildings and learn more about the town’s intriguing history.
Back onboard, the beverages are cold and the welcoming atmosphere of the Outback Explorer Lounge inspires conversation and laughter. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world.
Off Train Experiences Adelaide and Broken Hill
By morning’s light, your desert views have made way for the rolling South Australian countryside. Arriving in Adelaide, prepare yourself for an entertaining stop in a beautifully-designed city renowned for international arts festivals, pop-up bars, and laneway restaurants. Feast upon the sights, scents and tastes of the extraordinary Adelaide Central Market – a mecca for locally-grown produce, multicultural treats and unexpected gourmet delights. Listen to the cheerful calls of the market stall holders and let your gaze wander from the delicious cured meats hanging in the delicatessens to the bright pyramids of carefully-arranged fruits and the sweet-scented goods on display in the bakeries and confectioners.
Alternatively, board a coach for a highlights tour of Adelaide, taking in views of the world-renowned Adelaide Oval from Montefiore Hill and stopping in at the popular Haighs chocolate factory. Venture into the Adelaide Hills for an unrivalled panorama from Mt Lofty Lookout before heading back to the train.
Over lunch, watch as pastures dissolve into tough mallee scrub on approach to Broken Hill. Known as the Silver City, Broken Hill is one of Australia’s legendary Outback bases defined by its wide streets, country pubs and ties with the Royal Flying Doctors Service and School of the Air. Here, you can visit the late Pro Hart’s art studio or head for the Miners’ Memorial where the stark reality of working in Broken Hill’s mines over the ages is writ large. The striking architectural edifice and spectacular view over the city add emotional weight to the list of more than 800 miners who lost their lives on the job.
Blue Mountains Off Train Experience & Arrive Sydney
Wake up and enjoy breakfast as you wind your way into the heart of the magnificent Blue Mountains. Arriving at Mount Victoria station, you have the option to disembark and explore the world-heritage listed national park.
Your first stop is Scenic World, offering a range of experiences for nature lovers, bushwalkers and thrill-seekers. Strap yourself in for an adrenalin-fuelling ride on the steepest-incline railway in the world before catching your breath and journeying back to the top of the mountain in a cable car. Take in the panoramic views of the Three Sisters from within the Skyway and further immerse yourself in the scenic Jamison Valley.
After all this excitement and mountain air, you’ll no doubt have worked up an appetite. Drive on to The Lookout Restaurant where you’ll enjoy lunch with award-winning beers and wines, not to mention more picturesque views. From Katoomba, board a privately chartered train and be whisked away to Sydney Central Station where your journey comes to an end. Sydney provides an entertaining and fitting end to your spectacular transcontinental rail adventure.
